East Gothenburg State Wildlife Management Area

Expansive Platte River floodplain and mixed grass prairie near Willow Island offering wetland edges, sandbars and open skies — prime for shorebirds, waterfowl and wide landscape shots. Best at dawn/dusk for warm side light and bird activity. Access via gravel roads; modest parking at pullouts. Seasonal highlights: spring/fall migrations and winter raptors. No entrance fee but follow WMA rules, stay on roads/marked areas and pack water and bug spray.
