Small ancient coppiced woodland and reserve near Matfield offering intimate woodland scenes, winding paths, mossy stumps, seasonal bluebells (late April–May), autumn colour and good close-up opportunities for fungi and birds. Entry is via public footpaths (free); limited roadside/layby parking at Five Wents. Best light: golden hour for rim-lit trees, overcast for saturated greens and mushroom detail. Expect narrow trails and uneven ground — wear boots.
