North Star Nature Preserve
Small preserved wetland and meadow with aspen groves and views of Castle Creek Valley — great for intimate landscapes, seasonal wildflowers and bird/wildlife shots. Best at golden hour and early morning for mist and active birds; fall brings vibrant aspens. Easy, flat trails and a short loop/boardwalk make it very accessible from the Castle Creek Road parking; free entry and usually uncrowded on weekdays. Snowshoe access in winter; watch for muddy sections after rain.
