Sunset Trail is a 10+ mile loop across West Mountain, Sugarloaf and Gulpha Gorge with rocky ascents, Balanced Rock overlook and valley panoramas—excellent for layered mountain landscapes, wildflower close-ups and riverside shots. Best at sunrise or golden hour for warm side-light on ridgelines; late afternoon sunsets from Balanced Rock. Trail is moderately strenuous (steep, rocky sections and 2,385 ft gain).
