Porcupine Point (Matheran) is a cliff-top vantage with sweeping Western Ghats ridgelines, deep valleys and seasonal mist — ideal for dramatic panoramas at sunrise, sunset and during/post-monsoon when clouds fill the valleys. Matheran is vehicle-free: park outside (Dasturi or Neral) and reach by toy train, ferry or a short hike/horse ride. No entry fee; expect steep walking and some railings/rocks for foregrounds. Weekday early mornings have fewer visitors.
