Tung Wan is Cheung Chau’s main sandy bay — wide beach, colorful fishing boats, a low pier and island village buildings. Great for sunrise and sunset skies, long exposures of surf, candid street scenes along the waterfront and festival shots during Bun Festival. Arrive by ferry from Central or from nearby islands; no car parking on Cheung Chau so plan ferry timetables. Weekdays and early mornings are least crowded; summer has strong sun and swimmers.
