Visit at sunrise/sunset for warm side-light on cliffs; monsoon season (Jul–Sep) yields dramatic storm skies; winter brings clear air and long shadows. Much of the forest is remote—many trailheads require dirt/graded-road driving and some 4WD. There is no general gate fee, but check local ranger info
