Rush Creek Conservation Area

Small but varied conservation area with a fishing pond, oak-forested trails, creeks and wooden footbridges — great for seasonal color, intimate landscape scenes and wildlife (deer, hawks, turtles). Park is open sunrise–sunset, free to enter with parking at the McGuire Rd lot; campground is primitive and must be reserved separately. Best light: golden hour at the pond for reflections; fall for foliage; overcast for forest detail. Weekday mornings avoid weekend DNR events and crowds.
