Fransen Nature Area is a compact wetland and prairie complex along the Constitution Trail with boardwalks, open marsh, and native grasses — excellent for birdlife, water reflections, and seasonal color. Best at dawn for migrating and songbirds and at golden hour for warm low-angle light on grasses and water. Trails are mostly flat and well‑maintained with nearby parking at the trailhead (no entry fee). Spring and fall offer peak wildlife activity; weekdays and early mornings minimize visitors.
