Fehr's Overlook Trace offers elevated views over Bastrop’s Lost Pines, rolling ridges and the Colorado River corridor—great for wide landscape vistas, layered compositions and golden-hour color. Short, easy trail from a small parking area inside Bastrop State Park (park entry fee applies). Best at sunrise or sunset for warm side-lighting and long shadows; weekdays and shoulder seasons are quieter. Weather can be hot in summer—bring water and sun protection. The area still shows post-fire regrows
