Fernbrook Natural Area offers wooded trails, a small creek and seasonal wetlands — ideal for intimate landscape, stream long-exposures, leaf-color in fall and close-up plant/wildlife shots. Best visited at sunrise or golden hour for warm side-light and mist over water; spring and autumn provide peak color and amphibian activity. Trails are unpaved and moderately narrow; parking is limited at the trailhead and there is no fee. Expect uneven footing and bring waterproof shoes after rain.
