


Castle Trail runs along the Badlands’ eroded buttes and pinnacles — shoot sweeping layered landscapes, dramatic rock textures, and wide skies. Best at golden hour or blue hour for low-angle light that reveals strata and long shadows. Accessible via trailheads off SD-240 near Interior; parking available at the Badlands Loop pullouts.
