Black River Reservation features a rugged river gorge, small waterfalls, wooded trails and wetlands — ideal for flowing-water studies, autumn color, birdlife and intimate forest compositions. Visit spring for higher flows or fall for foliage; sunrise and golden hour soften light in the gorge. Trails and overlooks are mostly accessible from the Gulf Rd parking area (no entry fee), but expect roots, rocks and muddy sections — bring waterproof shoes and a tripod for long exposures.
