A mosaic of longleaf pine savanna, pocosin wetlands, and small lakes offering moody reflections, layered tree lines and seasonal wildflowers (pitcher plants in spring). Best at golden hour for warm light across open flats and at blue hour for reflective waters. Trails and small parking areas at trailheads; dirt roads may require higher-clearance vehicles after rain. No entry fee but follow state forest rules and watch for ticks and mosquitoes.
