The Wetlands

Horicon Marsh (The Wetlands) is one of the largest freshwater marshes in the U.S. — ideal for bird and wildlife photography, sweeping reedbeds, reflective water, and sunrise/sunset color. Photograph migratory waterfowl, herons, egrets, and fog over cattails. Best at dawn and dusk during spring and fall migrations; winter offers stark patterns and raptors. Easily accessible trails, boardwalks and observation towers; visitor center with parking. No permit for casual photography, but respect closed
