A small protected wetland and longleaf-pine habitat offering marsh vistas, boardwalks and frequent wading birds, turtles and butterflies. Best at dawn and golden hour for soft side-light on reeds and water reflections; late winter/early spring brings migrants and wildflowers. Easy roadside parking on Capitola Rd; trails and boardwalks are mostly flat but can be muddy — insect repellent and waterproof shoes recommended. No permit required for casual photography.
