Pannel Valley Reserve is a compact nature reserve of ponds, reedbeds and meadow that rewards photographers with intimate wetland scenes, birdlife (waders, warblers, winter wildfowl) and reflective water surfaces. Accessible footpaths and a boardwalk make close compositions easy; roadside parking at Pett and no formal entry fee. Best at sunrise or golden hour for low light on reeds, and autumn–winter for migrant birds. Weekdays and early mornings are quiet; wear waterproof boots after rain.
