Bear Hill Regional Park

Gently rolling Garry-oak meadows, mixed forest trails and hilltop viewpoints overlooking the Saanich Peninsula and southern Gulf Islands — ideal for landscape panoramas, seasonal wildflowers and birding. Best at sunrise/sunset for warm light and long shadows; spring for lupines and camas, fall for low-angle light. Small parking area off Bear Hill Rd; no entry fee. Trails are mostly easy but watch for muddy sections. Respect nesting birds and stay on marked paths.
