Trailhead into Peavy Arboretum's Intensive Management area: mossy Douglas-fir stands, managed conifer plantings, small streams and fern-carpeted slopes. Great for intimate forest scenes, patterns in planted rows, seasonal color and fungi. Best at spring and fall for lush understory and mushrooms, or summer mornings for dappled light. Small gravel parking at the trailhead; site is public (OSU arboretum), no fee but follow posted rules. Trails are rustic—sturdy shoes and rain gear recommended.
