Small RSPB ancient woodland of coppiced oak and mixed broadleaf — excellent for woodland scenes, spring bluebell carpets, intimate bird portraits (woodpeckers, warblers) and autumn colour. Best at dawn and early morning for active birds and soft light; late April–May for bluebells, October for warm tones. Easy footpaths and a few hides; parking on Dean Lane. No formal entry fee (RSPB site rules apply). Ground can be uneven and muddy—wear boots.
