Large wetland preserve centered on a heron & egret rookery, open trails, lake and visitor center. Best for bird and wetland shots at sunrise or late afternoon; fall colors add landscape interest. Note rookery access is seasonally closed (roughly Mar 1–Aug 15) to protect nesting birds; other trails remain open. Parking at the visitor lot; no dogs, bikes or fishing in rookery areas. Expect boardwalks, viewing blinds and easy walking paths—good for handheld or tripod setups.
