A quiet riverside preserve of mixed forest, wetlands and boardwalks along the Penjajawoc Stream — great for intimate river vistas, reflections, birdlife and seasonal color (notably fall). Best at sunrise or golden hour for soft side lighting and mist; weekday mornings avoid anglers and hikers. Trails are mostly flat with some boardwalks; free entry and roadside parking on Kittredge Rd. Bring insect repellent in summer; access can be muddy after rain.
