Best at dawn/dusk for wildlife and golden hour light; fall for foliage; spring for migrants. Access via small parking areas off Cedar Sign Post Rd—check Virginia DGIF for WMA access rules and seasonal closures; some trails are unmarked and terrain can be muddy after rain. Low visitation makes weekday mornings ideal.
