Wildcat Canyon Upper Entrance (McCosker Trail) offers oak-studded ridgelines, chaparral slopes, seasonal wildflowers and views toward San Pablo Bay. Excellent for landscapes, intimate nature scenes and creek long-exposures. Best in spring for blooms or golden hour for warm ridge light. Trailhead has a small parking lot (East Bay Regional Park rules, no entry fee), steep sections follow; expect variable coastal fog. Weekday mornings are quieter.
