Mason Hill Conservation Area

Small, varied conservation area with mixed hardwood forest, rocky ledges, stone walls and small wetlands — good for intimate woodland frames, seasonal color and birdlife. Trails are short to moderate; parking at the trailhead on Quarry Rd, no fee. Best visits: golden hour for ridge/ledge vistas, fall for foliage, spring for wildflowers and migratory birds. Expect uneven footing; permit-free, carry bug spray in summer and traction in winter. Weekday mornings are quieter.
