Small coastal-plain refuge of marsh, willow-lined bluffs and open water on the Santee River corridor — excellent for migratory waterfowl, wading birds and intimate wetland landscapes. Best at golden hours and during migration (late fall–early spring for waterfowl, spring for songbirds). Access is via a small parking area off local roads; follow refuge signage and stay on designated roads/trails. No fee, light facilities; expect mosquitoes in warm months and seasonal closures for nesting.
