Best in spring for blooms and breeding birds, and in late summer–fall for warm light and seedheads. Trails are unpaved; small parking area at Basco—no entry fee. Expect bugs in warm months and bring sturdy shoes. Dawn and dusk provide the best light and minimal disturbance.
