Devil's Path Trail
A rugged, high-elevation Catskills route offering dramatic rocky ridgelines, deep forest, waterfalls and sweeping valley vistas — especially striking in fall foliage and at golden hour. The trail is very steep and technical in sections; suitable for fit hikers only. Access from Prediger Trail Head (limited parking). No entry fee; follow DEC rules. Best light: sunrise/sunset on exposed knobs, mid/late-September to October for peak color; spring for waterfalls. Weekday mornings reduce crowds.
