Well-marked paths and wooden hides give close views; parking at Mallard Way and free entry via Durham Wildlife Trust. Best at dawn or dusk for soft light and active birds; spring/autumn migration and winter wildfowl peak. Paths are mostly flat and partially accessible but bring waterproof footwear after rain.
