Compact mixed maple–oak woodland prized for vibrant fall color, layered canopy and intimate forest details (moss, fungi, leaf litter). Trails are short and informal off S Mill Rd; parking is minimal and entry is free. Best visited mid-Sept–mid-Oct for peak color, at golden hour or on overcast days to saturate hues and reduce harsh shadows. Weekday mornings offer the fewest people; bring waterproof shoes for muddy sections and a small pack—no formal facilities on site.
