Small series of clear, terraced freshwater pools set in native bush near the foothills of Mount Taranaki. Shoot close reflections, textured rock edges, moss and water flow; sunsets and golden hour add warm tones to the foliage. Short walk from Manaia Road with informal roadside parking; no entry fee but surfaces are slippery — sturdy shoes recommended. Visit at sunrise or late afternoon for best light and fewer people; after light rain the pools and cascades look more dramatic.
