Devil's Backbone State Natural Area
A narrow sandstone/limestone ridge with exposed rock outcrops and sweeping valley views — excellent for dramatic ridge-line compositions, layered panoramas and seasonal colors. Best at sunrise or golden hour for warm side-light and long shadows; fall offers vivid foliage. Trail is short but can be steep and rocky; wear sturdy shoes. Small trailhead parking on Dugway Rd; no entry fee. Weekday mornings are least crowded and weather can be windy on the ridge.
