Canoochee Sandhills WMA

Pine‑sandhills habitat of longleaf pine, wiregrass and sandy ridges — great for wide landscapes, intimate nature studies, seasonal wildflowers and regional songbirds/raptors. Best at golden hours; spring brings blooms and breeding birds, late winter offers clearer understory. Trails are sandy and can be remote; park at marked trailheads on Nevils Groveland Rd. Expect little light pollution at night. Check WMA access rules and seasonal closures; bring insect repellent and water.
