Tokun Peak is a short, popular hill hike offering sweeping panoramas over Bukit Mertajam, surrounding paddy fields and Penang’s lowlands—excellent for sunrise and sunset vistas, cloudscapes and intimate trail/foreground compositions. Trailhead is off Jalan Kolam with informal parking near the base; expect a 20–40 minute ascent on mixed steps and jungle path. Visit at golden hour for warm side-lighting; avoid mid-day heat and heavy rains (monsoon Nov–Mar). Locals use the peak for morning exercise
