Small community park with shoreline viewpoints, tree-lined trails and remnants of Nanaimo’s coal-mining landscape. Good for coastal panoramas, textured rock and tidepool close-ups, and low-angle compositions with forested edges. Best at golden hour (sunrise and sunset) for warm light and reflections; low tide reveals more foreground detail. Easy walk-in access from Extension Rd, limited roadside parking, no entry fee. Some paths are uneven—bring waterproof shoes. Weekdays are quieter.
